Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest 5k/10k/11 Miler
First things first, MAY WE NEVER FORGET. This is most definitely a Patriot’s Day event – a morning of contemplation and commemoration. But also one of celebration…celebration of the indomitable American spirit and the knowledge that we live in the greatest country on this earth.
This race started out as the Patriot’s Run & Paddle, unique to the SoWal area! Started in 2020, it was actually the first area event permitted during the COVID era. Many improvements have been made since that first race. Beginning with the 2025 we have partnered with Operation Outdoor Freedom and have changed the name accordingly and upgraded it to a TRAILFEST! Operation Outdoor Freedom provides recreational opportunities to wounded veterans on Florida state forests, agricultural, and private lands. All of their events feature fully equipped accommodations geared to the special needs of wounded veterans.
All runners will begin at the East Pt. Washington Trailhead on Hwy 395
5k (ish) runners: Will follow the yellow loop
10k (ish) runners: Will follow the yellow loop and then the red loop
11 miler runners: Will follow go through the yellow, red and orange loops
The best thing about these trails is they are already marked by the Forest Department. Routes will also be marked on race day.
There will be an awards ceremony beginning at ~9:00a, where the men’s and women’s winners + runner ups for all three courses will receive their awards. Age-group awards will also be
given. All registered runners who cross the finish line of their respective race will also receive a finisher's medal.A portion of the proceeds from Operation Outdoor Freedom Trailfest benefits Operation Outdoor Freedom. Refund Policy
Due to Mother Nature and her history in Florida,we cannot guarantee perfect weather for this event. Refunds will not be given if the event is cancelled. If the event is cancelled, runners can pick up their swag and medal at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach. PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SPECIAL TREATMENT. When signing up for this event you are doing so with the understanding of the refund policy.
