30A Halloween Nighttime 5m/5k Trail Run
The 30A Halloween Nighttime 5m/5k Trail Run...well, the name should say it all! There is just something about running at night. Running at night with zombies around? It doesn't get much better! If you're able to ignore the zombies for a few moments, hopefully you'll be able to appreciate the absolute beauty of this course. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is one of the true gems of our area, with an absolutely incredible trail system and a stretch of private beach that is truly unparalleled. You'll get to run it all!!!
Again, the 30A Halloween 5m/5k Nighttime Trail Run takes place at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The 5K course takes place exclusively on their paved path. No sand, no roots or rocks…nothing but asphalt! The 5-mile course encompasses portions of this same paved path at the start and finish; but, for the in-between part, will utilize a stretch of their awesome beach as well as a few of their trails. We tried to pick trails with minimal trip hazards, but of course any place there are trees there are going to be tree roots. Therefore, for everyone’s safety, ALL RUNNERS must have an operational headlamp or flashlight to run.
Awards will be given to the men’s and women’s winners and runner ups for both courses. All registered runners who cross the finish line for their respective race will receive a suitably cool finisher’s award. Also, all registered runners will receive the official 30A Halloween 5-mile/5K Nighttime Trail Run race shirt.
